Village of Strasburg - Watermain Replacement

The Village of Strasburg’s water distribution system experienced over 30 leaks in the last 2 years.  The Village lost over 20% of the water produced.  The Village knew they had to  address the problems which were causing a huge inconvenience to its residents in addition to being a threat to the health and safety of the residents.  To help make the improvements affordable, the Village planned to replace all the watermain in the Village in 2 phases utilizing DCEO & Rural Development funding.  The Village has secured a $450,000 DCEO grant and completed Phase 1.  The DCEO grant for Phase 2 will be applied for in 2016, and if funded, construction will be completed in 2018.  Rural Development funding was utilized as leverage funds with the total project cost at approximately 1.3 million.

Milano & Grunloh Engineers, LLC helped the Village secure the DCEO & Rural Development funding, and completed design engineering, permitting, and bid documents for the project, as well as providing construction observation.
