EJ Water Cooperative, Inc. - Phases 34, 35, & 40

EJ Water Cooperative, Inc. is continually and actively implementing projects that improve the potable water quality in rural areas. The majority of rural households currently utilize wells for potable water, many of which test positive for unsafe levels of T-Coli and E-Coli Bacteria. EJ Water also interconnects with and replaces old dilapidated water systems that have become a health hazard to those they serve. Three such projects have been constructed in 2017.

Phases 34, 35, and 40 saw the construction of over 115 miles of watermain to serve approximately 500 households in the Village of Sailor Springs in Clay County, German and Preston Townships in Richland County, Avena Township in Fayette County, Neoga Township in Cumberland County, Big Spring and Lakewood Townships in Shelby County and Locust Township in Christian County. These projects totaled approximately $7.3 million and utilized $3 million in DCEO Grant Funds and $4.2 million in USDA Rural Development Loan and Grant Funds.

Milano & Grunloh Engineers, LLC provided assistance with the Grant Application and Administration, Design Engineering, and Construction Inspection for these projects.
