Growth of the Lake Sara area demanded that a new 400,000 gallon water tower replace the existing 40,000 gallon tank.  Construction of the tower began in December of 1997, and was completed in December of 1998, at a cost of $500,000.  This tower now serves over 1,000 rural customers in eight square miles in Effingham County.  Milano & Grunloh provided the design, permitting, construction guidance, resident engineering and inspection for this project.
